For your early fall reading pleasure… Meet two furry clients from across the River: Lucy-Lu and Billie.

Meet Lucy-Lu, a one-year-old Staffordshire Terrier who belongs to Cassie of Roseville. Lucy-Lu has been a Downtown Dogger for nearly one year.

What are your dog’s favorite activities?
Chewing, chewing, and chewing.

What are your dog’s most unique personality traits or behaviors?
Lucy-Lu is a snuggle bug — and she doesn’t care how heavy she is, you are her mattress.

What does your dog want everyone to know about them?
I am the sweetest, friendliest dog you could meet. All I want are belly rubs and someone to play with. A treat every now and then doesn’t hurt either.

Rachel and Michael of St. Paul introduce you to their five-year-old rescue Catahoula Mix Billie. They’ve been Downtown Dogs customers for more than four years.

What are your dog’s favorite activities?
Eating French fries, getting other dogs to chase her, and playing hide and seek with her bone.

What are your dog’s most unique personality traits or behaviors?
Her very dramatic yawns, uniquely spotted coat, and her extreme dislike of men dressed in uniform (mailmen, delivery truck drivers, policemen, and the like).

What does your dog want everyone to know about them?
A lot! I am smarter than you think. You might ask me to do something and I won’t do it, not because I’m dumb, but because I’m stubborn or don’t trust you. When I have energy, I will torment you until you take me on a walk or play tug of war with me relentlessly. If l’m feeling lazy, all I want to do is snuggle up on the couch and you can’t convince me otherwise. I am responsible for my parents. I have to protect them from evil delivery men and ensure that they are safe whenever they go from one room in our house to another. My favorite foods are French fries, pup cups from Dairy Queen, and string cheese.
